The SAARC tournament is being arranged in order to select competent players to represent South Asia Subcontinent in the first ever Queen Alice World Tournament, as proposed by beco. (For more information on the 'World Tournament', please see: http://www.queenalice.com/topic.php?id=8729)
Further instructions regarding the tournament will be issued here. I have started this thread so that we can all discuss and decide over the various conditions before the tournament.
. Date of the Tournament: April 1 is the current date set. It is subjected to changes as per the players' convenience.
. Requirements to join: The Queen Alice player should be a citizen of one of the following nations: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives.
· Pairing: Swiss system.
. Number of players: 20 is the maximum limit.
. Number of rounds: Will be decided by the system automatically when the number of players is finalised.
. Time control: 7 days per move with 7 days time bank.
. IMPORTANT: Players who lose on time will be automatically disqualified from the tournament.
I look forward (and hope!) to have an enjoyable tournament!
