I support this idea, too. I will be very nice!
However, more important IMHO would be round-robin tournaments.

Yes, robelix. It happens because -as you said - I consider QA a chess site, not a chat room.
If I wanted to join a club to chat and meet new friends, I'd join an e-mail group(as I really do) and other stuff.
I use QA to meet new _challengers_(not friends) and to play against my friends also - and not make new ones.
I'm not against this feature, but there are lots of more important things to be implemented before that.

There's nothing wrong with making friends online through a common interest - chess.

And where did I said there's something wrong?? I can't find, nor remember, that. What I said is: _I_ don't use QA for that.
