Just 16 points get's him placed THAT much lower? This is a testamount to how rediculously evenly matched GM's are, the high draw count among them is also such a testamount to this. I like Josh Waitzkens games, they're was alot of potential they're. What I like about Marshall is he often employed the (underrated nowadays) Wing gambit. However as great as he was he just doesnt compare to Morphy, who beats everyone very badly in those day's, whereas Marshall was very much in line, sure Marshall's probably better then Morphy, but only by a small margain, If Morphy would be rated 2000 today, then Marshall may be rated 2020 I think.
