Miguel,
I think in regard to donations that you should include the dollar amount of the person who donates in the donations section. That will serve as an incentive to others to donate and act as a guide. For those who do not want the amount of their donation known -- they should have the option of having their amount not made public.

I'm not sure this feature would work as you imagined it. Those who donate large amounts probably wouldn't want to attract publicity to their deeds, and so wouldn't those who make small donations. I think the attitude is more important than the amount itself, as each one contributes according to one's possibilities.
But I do think it would be a good idea if Miguel gave us a weekly or monthly total, and an estimate of his expenses so that we could decide the best time to make another donation.
