Well spoken phystutordotcom. It seems a large majority of us here believe in God and that which science has proven.

Was the parting of the red sea impossible? suppose that for that moment God lowered the density of water. Or maybe Good created a Fifth force of nature that moses controlled for just that occasion and the destroyed that fifth force. An omnipotent god is not constrained bythe phrase, That violates the laws of physics, becuase being all powerful he can change the laws to suiit his needs.
If indeed God could suit the physical constants to his needs, wouldn't that affect everyone and everything, or just a particular place/person? If, as you mention for example, God changed the density of water, wouldn't the people God was trying to save be (probably) killed?
Of course it cannot be either proven or disproven, and this is (probably) the way it will always be. To me it's easier to accept that the Red sea didn't actually part but that's actually a metaphore for some more "earthly" event, rather than some extraordinary, unique, divine event taking place (again, which cannot be proven/disproven).
We can all offer our point of view, but in the end, everyone is right in a sense.

The Alchemist - You assume one of the most fundamental postulates of physics. The laws of physics are the same everywhere. However an omnipotent God could change the laws in just one spot for a single instant.
Gil - I confess that I am not familiar with Fritjof Capra. His works in mataphysics seem closer to the field of philosophy than physics. However, as someone who hopes to get a PhD in physics I am reluctant to critique that the work or someone who has a PhD in physics. Does Fritjof consider the concepts you mentioned to be Physics. Many Physicist publish important work in other disciplines.

If there are rules, and a god (why not God) has made them, i think he can change them when he want.
And maybe he needs not to change them. Maybe there are rules than we can't see with science, dont you think so?
It is only faith, what can be do with that!
So, we are here. We can try and try with science to understand. Which is the reason? Why are we here? But we will never answer that question. We only can undertand the rules that govern our univesre, the place where we are.

Faith is simply facts, not blind trust. Science is only what "man" can precieve. Being not all knowing like GOD, mans thoughts and ways are finite and falible. Man is also depraved in nature as history proves as does ones daily existance. GOD provided man with a progressive revelation of HIMSELF through the Jewish Scriptures and revealed HIMSELF in CHRIST/ MESSIAH. Nature itself proves GOD and that reality alone leaves man without excuse. Man made religion is mans futile attempt to reach GOD through his so called righteous deed. GOD way is to reach out to man through The LORD JESUS and provide man with both deliverance from the pentalty of man willfull, inherited and imputed sin and its present power in our lives. HIS WORD is clear from Genesis through Revelations. Take the time to read the first few chapters of Genesis to see the creation, and mans fall. Then read the Gospel(good news) of John and see GOD in Christ. Romans 1-5 HIS free gift to any who will come.
Shalom,
