I did a search in Orkut with the word "queenalice" and it gave me back 250 Brazilians talking about the site there. Interesting. This site here is the best but maybe Queenalice got a good lift on Orkut's success in Brazil, and word spreads fast...

Well, I have a nice "theory".
I think brazilians are a very social people, and because we know it is much more fun if everybody goes together, we spread the word so we can meet all our friend at an unique place.
That said, it could be other site besides QA. But then comes the great features this site have. And after some successful games, and the first people really happy about the site, people start talking about it, and... voilá! Here we are!
Could not be true, but it is the way I think this things happens, even with orkut.
Cheers, Beco.

Testimony: "How I found this site"
Well, I was on a 3-week DB administration course, and during the coffee-breaks one guy always connected to the internet and used to spend some time analyzing games. I had never heard of correspondence chess, then I asked him what the site was all about and became very curious. On the same week I accessed the site at home, became registered and started playing.
I also think that having a portuguese translation adds a lot for the amount of brazilians here.
