Hey everyone, i had posted an message a while ago about help with an e4 response. I hated the sicilian, so in turn i got frustrated with playing e4 openings.
I took the advice of some players here and took 2 steps back and realized i hate what i dont know. This weekend to finally bury the hatchet i played e4 in my first tournament, sure enough here came c5.
I had studied the sicilian, although i hated looking at it, and finally came to an equal understanding of the position. The game lasted 50 moves before i finally won a peice and tamed the beast.
I know i am not a chess guru by far, but i felt i should share my experience to help those that are or were in my position at a time. The point i am trying to make here is simply this, if u dont like playing something, play it even more , make your weaknesses your strengths and u will find your chess confidence and understanding increase. Don't let anything intimidate u, just play the game and love every minute of it.

Hi Ryan,
I agree with you. Although, it pays to play with lines that you are familiar with playing your hated (or uncomfortable) chess positions will give enhance your chess repertoire.
Actually, I never used sicilian before and was a plain king and queen pawn opening player until I tried using sicilian in this website. I did found out that the sicilian really creates a strong defense at the center and I am still in the process of fully understanding its lines.
