Do you think a computer can read your mind?
Find out there:

Clever. But then I started reading the computer's mind and knew what symbol it was going to choose, even though I didn't think of a number!

The instructions are to choose a number between 1 and 99, and then subtract the two individual digits from that number. If the two digits are X and Y then the number you started with is 10X+Y and the number you end up with is 10X+Y-X-Y = 9X. Thus, the number you end up with can only be 0, 9, 18, 27, ..., 81. If you look in the grid, you'll see that these entries always have the same symbol as each other. But, because the programmer is clever, they get a different symbol each time you load the page.
