What is a 'skittles' game?

At a live USCF rated chess tournament there is a skittles room where players can analyze their games without disturbing the other games being played.
|
|
|
Skittles is (unless it's changed) the term for a "pick-up" game. That is...let's sit down and play a game. No tournament, etc.
