Topic: Why are all the tournaments 7d/m ? (apart from the ANNIV)

It's much better as it is, as all 7d/m: in that way everyone plays in the same tournaments instead of them being spread out over many tournaments. I try to make my moves every day possible, thus making the game faster... not many people use all seven days to make one move.

but if just one person in a tournament does play that slowly a round can be held up for weeks and weeks while everybody waits for them to finish their game. I was just playing somebody in a tournament who was using almost precisely to the hour 7 days for each move... most frustrating of all, he had a lost position! Finally after 6 weeks or so he either got bored and let the time elapse or miscalculated when he needed to move by - as soon as his time was up i felt it was my civic duty to claim the game so we could get on with the tournament!
