Perhaps the system might automatically forfeit players who have been in a "time expired" mode for more than "x" days (or a week or even two). I don't mind so much if somebody turns a blind eye for a short time to a tardy opponent hoping they will start moving again. However, I know of one game where a player has not logged in since mid-September. It's his last game and he's lost quite a few on time. His opponent hasn't claimed the win. Not necessarily a problem, except it's also the last game in a tournament. It's not really my (or another third party's) place to message his opponent and say, "hey, claim the time win on this guy already!"

It has happened in one of my tournaments. As I recall, the system claims automatically games after 30 days of inactivity.

If that's the case, then problem solved.
