I am having a private tournament with friends currently and 2 players are missing from the second round. They both lost their games in the first round, but according to the swiss system they shouldn't have been eliminated (other players that lost their first games are still in the tournament, in any case). Neither of them tried to remove themselves from the tournament (which is impossible anyway once the tournament has started, right?). Any help or an explanation appreciated.

Were their games lost for time expired? In this case, then they are disqualified from the tournament. Check it on the "About This Site" link.
