Hi folks! I´m new in the QA, so just now I´m with established rating. So I was looking the rating system and this point called my attention:
Established Ratings
For players that have played 25 or more games the following formulas are used to compute their rating:
new rating = old rating + 0.04 * (rating difference) + 16 (for the winner) new rating = old rating + 0.04 * (rating difference) - 16 (for the loser) new rating = old rating + 0.04 * (rating difference) (in case of a draw) |
Well, if I play with a established player that has 1568, I have this situation:
2168 + 0,04*(-600) + 16 = 2160 (if win!!!) 2168 + 0,04*(-600) = 2142 (if draw) 2168 + 0,04*(-600) - 16 = 2128 (if lose)
Is it correct? I will lose rating even if I win the game? For provisional players the system appoints an special rule about differences over than 400 points, but this rule isn´t present in the established player. How does it work?

The 400-point limit also applies to established players. The amount of points you win after a win is at a minimum at 0 (which is a maximum if you lose).

seigneur, I've suspected, but I couldn´t lose the chance to write a new topic in the forum!

I thought the minimum was 1 point for a win not zero (for established players)? I have won a few games against friends ranked ~-1100 and got a point.

whyBish, you're right! Yesterday I won my first game like established, against a provisional player with more than 500 points diference, and I got 1 point. By the way, today I lost for a 2000 player and my rating felt 17 points... (the first lose we never forget)

It felt 17 points? (fell)
Fell/felt I have difficulties with, as well as past/passed, push/pull (actually, I know push... so when I see a pull, I have to ask myself what's the other word -- push -- and think of the opposite).
