I would like a feature where I can download the games of other players. I can download my own games for study. But, I want to study the games of other players and do not want to input the moves by hand.
What is the reason there is no option to download the games of other players?

I see that seigneur has asked the same question without getting an answer. I know I can download completed games of other players; but, why not ongoing games, since I can download my own ongoing games?

Indeed. But, why can we get no answer to the question.

Well, you know... maybe Miguel is busy, or maybe he just didn't run into either message yet. I usually tend not to expect answers (regardless whether messages are actually read, that I don't know).
For instance, there was this thread about how you could see your opponent's private notes in a game... it's been reported, allegedly noted, but we never got any feedback on it. Probably it's been fixed, but who knows. I guess there's an occasional lack of communication.
However, this is a "non-issue"; it's probably been thought like that, and the website implements it in such a way that the contract has actually been respected (i.e. "it's probably intentional"). As for the reason, this was my initial question... maybe there's no real reason, you know? Maybe that's just the way it is.
On a final note, I'd like to point out that the website is free and that Miguel runs it using no other revenues than the ones generated from ads (and donations, but that's hardly his doing). Because it's free and well-built, it's hard to be mad at something so meaningless.

I have donated. I have gotten answers to my questions in the past. I am sure there is a reason why no downloads of ongoing games of other players. But, like you, I would like to know why.
Perhaps I will write to Miguel directly. I have done that before.
I do understand how busy he can be and that this site is free; but, I do not understand why other players have not weighed in on this question.
Can it only be of interest to you and me? Now that is an interesting thought . . .
