Yes, there seems to be a lot of new players lately that sign up to tournaments then go on 45 days vacation and time out.

Well, vacation is a right for all players here... Besides, when they have used their 45 days, they will have to play correctly !

The problem is that they don't play at all, they are just signing up, taking 45 days vacation without making any moves in any games, and then timing out. Winning on time after 2 months without making a move isn't exactly meaningful.

Is it that important ? OK, this player is childish, and then what ? You can easily "get chess" with other players, other tournaments...

It's not that important unless you get to the stage where all 25 of your opponents are doing it :)
