An interesting discussion. I am quite new here, by the way, and have been analyzing some of the games underway and in the archives in order to improve my game. I had encountered several where the player had resigned very early on and I was wondering what that might be about. Thank you for suggesting one other possible rationale.

Player has to have more than one ID and enter the same tournament.

People can have as many names as they want - providing that at no time do they play against each other nor do they enter more than one name in a tournament. That is called cheating. A good example of this is marcomasa, marcomasao and marconilho who are the same person entered together in several current tournaments. If a player wants to have several names for the reasons mentioned such as, 'how many wins playing white', then I suggest that all their names are the same but with a number, for example, equus1, equus2, equus3 and so on. This would clearly separate the honest multi-user from the dishonest. Moreover, if they wanted to, they could describe in their personal information what each name is used for, e.g. equus3 is for 7day games.

The players on the LA,Calif, USA baseball team that used to be in Brooklyn, NY USA are Dodgers I am sure of it.
