It is common to use databases in correspondence chess. These are some of the most popular:

http://www.chesslab.com
http://www.chessbase.com
http://www.chessgames.com

And many more... I think that when playing chess by correspondence the use of databases is almost indispensable for a game by correspondence is a theoretical duel...

Agreed! I am working on showing database information for games in progress. This is one of a few things that are sort of big so it will take me some time to make them available. I will start using the ECO database, and depending on how much server space I need to use I may also add a game database. If anyone knows a good public domain database covering a wide array of openings and playing styles please let me know.

Yes. Unfortunately I get as excited playing CC as I used to get when playing OTB, so I keep making the same stupid mistakes :-( . I hope I will eventually cool down and start playing good chess ;-) .

Azaris is right... The lite version of chesslib's database on:

is fantastic... How could I forget it?

:-D
