A very useful idea! but may be a complex programming task for Miguel. Just a question: how many players on QA actually research opponents previous games? I would imagine most of us do.

i don't research my opponents. i just play what they give on the board but i agree that it would be wise if you want to win against that opponent

Knowledge of a strong opponent's preferred opening or variation would be very useful for preparation. However, making this information available may take more resources for the value to the masses. Miguel's comments on this would be interesting.
I've noticed at another site (www.chessworld.net) they have started linking opening variations to www.chessgames.com. When you click on the hyperlinked opening variation you go to a page that offers a forum link, opening name and moves, Google search link, and ECO code link to www.chessgames.com. It would be useful to have a link from within our games that permits us the choice to check out the opening further at www.chessgames.com.
Any thoughts?
