Topic: Frequent site down times

Miguel,
I observed that we have had several down times for the site. Is there something wrong with it? I hope not.

There are always things that can go wrong, and it is an "art" to write intelligent monitoring tools that can detect this and recover.
Each time there is a failure I incorporate more checks into a script that tries to ensure the site is up, I think I pretty much resolved the problems with the web server, at least there wasn't any down time because of it in several weeks.
These days there are weird things going on with the database server, which fails in the most strange ways. Things should get better, each failure gives me information to make the server more robust.
