One may pick and choose his tournaments. In joining a tournament s/he essentially agrees to the conditions, which must be fair to all, no matter personal behavior or manner.
Having said that, an appropriate use of the Ignore List could be to block challenges and messages from players one would wish no casual contact from. That I would suggest.

Can you withdraw from a tournament that you've signed up for but which hasn't yet started?
Also, I'd second mustang's comment that the system should block challenges and messages from ignored players.

yes you can drop from a tourny before it starts.
|

or you can join as the last member in each tournament so you can view who have joined it first. this would require you to check the tournaments open every now and then though...
