Since it's allegedly been solved, there might be little point in playing the game ;-)

Dear chess lovers,

Copy and paste this PGN to your favorite chess program... Imagine that a 3x3 board is formed by the squares a6, a7, a8, b6, b7, b8, c6, c7, c8...
And remember that the black pawn can promote if it reaches the first line a6, b6 or c6...

Here it is (sorry, comments in portuguese):

[Event "3x3 chess"]
[Site "http://kd.lab.nig.ac.jp/3x3-chess/"]
[Date "2006.02.07"]
[White "Win in 15"]
[Black "Loser"]
[Annotator "Beco"]
[Result "1-0"]
[FEN "rbK5/bPp5/kNB5/8/8/8/8/8 w - - 0 1"]

1.Nxa8 {Se bxa8=N empata, se bxa8=Q ou bxa8=R ou bxa8=B perde em 1! Como?} Bb6
2.Kxb8 {Se Nxc7+ empate por afogamento em 1, e se Nxb6 perde em 3!} Ba7+
3.Kc8 {Se Kxc7 empate por afogamento em 2} Bb8 {Se Bb6 perde em 2, com 4.b8=Q
Ba7 5.Qb7#! Com o lance do texto, perde em 12 agora... Está caminhando o
mate. As pretas não podem jogar errado que adianta o serviço.} 4.Nxc7+ {Se
Kxb8 afoga.} Ka7 5.Na6 Kxa6 {Forçando a troca! Se Kb6 perde em 4 e se Bc7
perde em 3.} 6.Kxb8 Kb6 7.Ka8 {Muito cuidado! Se 7.Kc8 empata! 7... Kxc6 E
promover a Q ou R afoga. Promover a N ou B, empata. Se 8.Kb8 Kb6 9.Ka8
Ka6 ...}
Ka6 {Se tomar o bispo, mate em 3. O lance do texto leva a mate em 8... Está
chegando a hora!} 8.b8=N+ {Obrigatório promover um Cavalo! Se promover Dama
ou Torre, afoga. Se promover Bispo, afoga em 2. 8.b8=B Kb6 9.Bb7 afoga. Se
outro lance, 9... Kxc6 empata.} Kb6 9.Bb7 {Agora começa a delicada manobra
para dar mate de Bispo e Cavalo! Mate em 7.} Kc7 10.Na6+ Kb6 11.Bc8 Kc6
12.Kb8 Kb6 13.Nc7 Kc6 14.
Bb7+ Kb6 15.Na8+ 1-0

And you can think in this position, it is check-mate in 15 moves!

Here is the position:

Dear Onceupon, one thing is a mathematically proved and solved game, another is a brain that can contain that information!

Even if tomorrow one solve chess 8x8, I will have a lot of fun playng, because I can not even memorize all opening books we already have, and also I can not remember all 6-pieces endgame tablebase by Nalimov (that is resolved!)... Even some 7-pieces are already resolved! But give me a board with K-R-R-P-P x k-q and I cannot say: that is a win to white, or something alike!

:-O

Cheers,
Beco
