But, still... How many chess players exists in the world? I cannot find it in google! Who knows a stats site that has this info?

C'mon Beco! Check the link bellow, study, get your conclusions and put it here (mastigado!), because I was to lazy to read everything! The last number I saw was 700.000.000 of people playing chess in the world but I was not in the mood to check the sources!

So, if this is true, the percentage of world population:
Chess players: 600 millions = 9.29% world pop.
Registered chess players: 7 millions = 0.1% world pop.
Online players: 283 millions = 4.39% world pop.
In a total of 159 countries!
And that means that 27,13% of all people in the world that do have access to the internet (1,043,104,886 people), play chess!
It is almost 1/3 of the internet users!
And 317 millions chess players dont have or dont want to play in the internet (most probable dont have access to).
So, to complete the stats, think about that:
16% of the world pop have access to internet.
4.39% of the world pop play chess in the internet.
0.12% of the world pop have orkut.

PS. Be careful with fast conclusions. For this stats to be useful we still need to know how many people inside orkut play chess.
