Hello, I'm new to QueenAlice.

I'm looking for the best site to play free correspondence chess. QueenAlice is one of four sites I am currently testing - the other three are ChessHere, ChessManiac and SlowChess. After several months of testing, I will decide which site I like best, and sign up with a "main" username (I always use whitekings as a "testing" username).

During my few months of testing, I will explore the features of the site, and get familiar with the community here. I may conduct several other miscellaneous tests to gauge the quality of the site.

I will be participating in discussions on these forums, and starting several new threads. While some of the topics may be controversial, this is intended to help me get familiar with the community and is part of my miscellaneous testing.

Hopefully after several months of testing, QueenAlice will be the site I pick. And if after several months on my new main account, I find I really enjoy it, I may even consider paying for a subscription.

Of those you list, QueenAlice is by far the best IMHO. Check out my reviews at http://www.angelfire.com/poetry/wulebgr/corr.htm

QA is one of three sites in my top category. I would welcome your views on the relative merits of the sites.

Here's a quick review based on my first impression of this site:

Despite apparently having the fewest members among the 4 sites, QueenAlice is more active than ChessHere, and almost as active as ChessManiac (SlowChess is not active at all). The community is good, and the webmaster is actively responding to queries. For a totally free site, it has massive potential, even offering no limits on maximum simultaneous games. However, there's a shortage of competitions, apart from tournaments. Playing in competitions is more fun and a great way to find more opponents. Other sites, such as ChessManiac, ChessHere and GameKnot, offer competitions such as teams, leagues, player-hosted tournaments and others. A couple more types of competitions on QueenAlice would make it the clear winner over ChessHere and ChessManiac (SlowChess is awful).

However, first impressions can change, and this site may improve throughout the testing months. I will be posting more feature requests on this forum during the coming months.

Hi dear whitekings,

I really like your review and I hope you can post more of this comparisons here.

I mean, if you decide to not choose Queen Alice, you will do a great favor helping to improve this site here.

Thanks,
Beco.

Hello Whitekings, welcome to QA.

I am here just 2 months and I already know: this is the best site to play correspondence chess.

QA is a clean site, best features, good friends and it´s free! I bet you will be here after your testing time. :-D
