ChatRooms are funny... specially on chess sites. By them we can discuss chess, talk about finished matchs, challenge "chatroom" players, etc... I think that´s easy to create one... It could be inserted as a "special page" under "Comunity" menu... So anyone logged in could join and talk...

ChessManiac offers such a feature.
What about leaving comments to your opponent during a game?

This is no problem. You can send messages to your opponent with your current move.

I think a live chat channel built into the site would detract from the relative "lightness" of the design. A semi-static 'chatbox' would be better, but I'd be the first to disable it or ignore it, since they contain little more than idle chitchat, and there's already a forum for that if I want to read it.
If you can get enough people interested, you can create a free channel on an IRC server, such as StarChat or EFNet. Miguel wouldn't have to program anything, or even administer it, and you could chat without even having a browser open.
Also, FICS (freechess.org) has dozens of available chat channels built into the site. Most likely you can get what you're looking for there as well.

I think it would be great if they added a web cam as well!

I agree that we should keep the interface clean.
