you should like get trophies or somthing for wining a tournament or being like 2nd or 3rd

i think we could have our tournament victories listed out in our profile page.

Other sites handle this differently.
On GameKnot, after each mini-tournament, you will be awarded mini-tournament points based on your position, if your position is high enough. Some players participate in many tournaments to accumulate mini-tournament points.
On ChessWorld.net, a good performance in a tournament earns you a "norm". After accumulating sufficient norms, you are awarded a title.
I think trophies are a good idea - however, the current tournaments do not seem to be prestigious enough. Each tournament has only 20 players.

Perhaps a tournament win gets a "Tournament point" and then yearly or something there is a Tournament of Champions (or another name of sorts) where the people with the most Tournament points will play in a tournament.

I think the tournaments should consist of more than 20 players. Monthly tournaments with 256 (4^4) players each would mean that prizes are more prestigious.
