Stanley Random (SR Chess) is the origin of "Standard" chess, which is a simplification of the original game by removing some of the rules. It is only recently being rediscovered and popularized, because it is actually a more advanced and complex form of chess that requires greater creativity and more imaginative play.
Have you read the FAQ at chessvariants.org? That's probably the place to start: http://www.chessvariants.org/link2.dir/srchess.html

| What's exactly Stanley Random Chess? I've read something but nothing very clear. |
Indeed. The "rules" governing Stanley Random Chess (SRC) are akin to those adopted in a game called Mornington Crescent. Although the latter has absolutely nothing to do with chess. Clear?

..i am a member of schemingmind ( although under a different name )..each site is very good and i do not think of them as competitors..i like each site for different reasons...this site has an excellent board and good colors...it has a playfullness with the neon colored faces and happy faces which makes it interesting..the color tone of the home page is better than at sm and the locator board on the left is easier to use than at sm...sm has nice features too which i won't list...but i see many of the same players on 4 or 5 diffrent sites as they use the same name on the different sites so i don't think that any site that has a nice offering of it's own has to feel that it is competing with someone else for the same players...
