Topic: how to create and paste a fen

hi..i am a computer illerate to keep this in mind when replying...i would like to create some
games with some pre-set board positions..i see where i can "paste a fen" into a space where games are created but have no idea how to find a blank chessboard to set pieces on and then how to get this board "pasted" into the space.
