I know that QA ratings are using books, databases, while USCF is whatever you jammed into your head into an OTB game. That said, is there some conversion, like QA - 400 = USCF that is accepted for correspondence ratings?

This was the source of a long discussion a while ago, the problem being that the ratings here in QA were too high. As a result of that I adjusted the rating formula and everybody's ratings so that they were more similar to the ratings of official chess organizations.

I remember having a provisional rating of about 1200/5 in the 70s. I know I'm not really a 1600 player over-the-board, and I have lots of time, etc., to reflect over moves on QA. So I believe ratings are inflated over the tournament ratings you could get from face-to-face games.
Still, I was thinking that there was some sort of postal chess rating system previously existing, and if there was a known conversion factor.

My FIDE rating is a little bit higher than my QA rating: 1853 x 1843. :-)

There are too many rating formulas and variations, if such conversion factor can be computed it will have to be done specifically for this site.
My hope with the rating changes was that for most people their OTB rating was somewhat close to their QA rating.

I would be flattered if my over-the-board rating were so high . I suppose I'll have to find a local tournament and see how I do...
