Is Billiard a kind of game or sport? What do you think about it?

One suggestion is that a sport requires some sort of physical co-ordination. By that metric, billiards is a sport because you have to hit the ball and hitting the ball badly will have a different effect to hitting it well. But chess is not because the moving of the pieces is just a representation of the state of the game and there's no difference between moving a knight `well' to a6 and moving it `badly' to a6.

Hey, what is a sport? Sport is all that involves competition, leisure, pleasure, surpass the owns limits, etc. For this reason, for me, the chess is a sport. Gil.

Okay, for you CHESS is a sport. How about Billiard (Pool) for you? Is it a sport or game?

Pool is a sport for overweight, bald old men like me. Can't see myself playing soccer, football or hockey............

For me, billiards, not only pool, is a sport, because it needs physical efforts, as well tactics and strategy habitual in many physical sports. I consider chess and checkers (100 squares) as a sport as well. But the way Gil puts it, where is the limit? In that case, you could say, games as Yahtzee, Monopoly, and even playing Play-Station are sports as well!
