I suggest a mechanism that could recognize conditional moves (like "if you play X, than I'll play Y), which makes games faster.

Strongly support. (I think it's been suggested before, though.)

I think its good idea because it can at least end fast some games were the loser is slowing down the game were is forced mate..
ITS right that richerby says it has been succested before but alwas good to fresh up good ideas. ;-)

Actually, the main time that conditional moves speed up play is in the opening and for obvious recaptures in the middle game. If one of the players is determined to slow down the game, they can still take seven days for their move and the fact that your conditional moves are played instantly doesn't really make much difference.

But they're still very useful. :-)

I'm also in favor of this idea as I know it from other servers.

The idea is indeed good, but I'm not sure Miguel would want to implement it, because it would add a significant overhead to game processing: He would have to keep our conditional moves in a database, and for each movement anyone makes he would have to query this database to see if that game has a move programmed and if the move corresponds to the one just made. Perhaps it's too much of a task for too little benefit. Let's see what he has to say about it.
