Hello, heavydluxe: What do you mean never solidified his place in history? Fischer's Game of the Century at age 13 has solidified his place in history, then his runaway tournament wins, e.g. Palma de Mallorca, his 11-0 at a US Championship, then his unbelievable run at the championship (6-0 both against Larsen and Taimanov) and next his complete domination of Petrosian and Spassky. That is as solid as anything you can find on any worthwhile human endeavor.
