of course you do not say "resign" to your opponent. You can say, "Good game, I think I'm winning with a full rook ahead"... You don't necessarily say to your opponent to resign but just reminding him that you have an advantage. Since this is CC and has this feature to send notes to your opponent, I don't find that rude at all... It's like a normal conversation in CC games in the net. :-D :-D :-D

Messaging your apponenet works well, only if you both speak the same language. :-D

You can imagine by the flag what language your opponent speaks, and you can always try english, I'm sure more than 90% here understands basic english.

Perhaps it's not as often done at the higher levels, but at my level of play, if there are only a few pieces left, sometimes it pays to keep playing to try and force a stalemate.

I think the same like Pestilence. I think only the players with ratings from 1800 and above are able to use the advantage all the time. Against all others you should play on to learn from the game and to avoid blunder moves or wait for blunder moves of your opponent. This is typical for me. I'm winning against a 1785, losing against a 1559 and losing winning positions against a 1810. I think many players here at QA know this problems.
