The Gospels indicate that Christ died on Passover. They also say he commanded to remember his death through bread and fruit of the vine, but not so with the resurrection.
Evidence indicates that Jesus was born in the Fall, so it would make much more sense to celebrate his birth then, rather than in the winter, if you celebrate it at all.
