@seigneur: Have you finished Brood War yet? The last Zerg levels are tough!
There's one (8) where you are up against large amounts of zerg and terran forces to take out the new overmind. You do get to build a protoss unit, though (guess which?). This level requires very accurate play (resources!)and trying to be almost constantly on the offensive - beware air strikes with up to five battlecruisers + other units. Probably one of the few levels where devourers or defilers can really come in handy...

The next-to last level is on a timer and you need to cross water to get to the enemy. Do that too quickly and you may well fail. Destroy one or two weak bases on your side first, to get resources in more quickly, and two new hatcheries. The enemy can be routed with air power only, provided you bring enough at once -24 mutalisks and 12 guardians is about minimum. If you have time to breathe, produce backup mutalisks and send them all to a rally point just off the enemy coast. Obviously, you should not waste too much vespene on ground unit improvements!
If you finish that level in good time, a secret puzzle-type level is unlocked, starring Zeratul, that is beautiful and very spooky! You need to use Mind Control a lot!!

The last zerg level is mayhem that you need to be in good shape for - rested, fed and caffeinated... Almost every tactic is used against you apart from the standard ones. Beware nukes and perhaps a special mutalisk subswarm is in order for those inconspicuous solo white things: those are kamikaze nurses come to Optical Flare your overlords!! Having many blinded overlords is really frustrating! But the final cinematic makes it all worth it...

Good luck. F.

Ah, I've kind of slowed down a bit.

I got 5 missions left (from 6 to 10, if I assume there are 10 missions for the zergs). But the more you advance, the more they get time-consuming, and that's just, well, wasted time of you will. The thing is that I am working on exams of actuarial societies in North America, and any time I waste playing that game feels like it is being wasted (although I really can't be working all the time either).

Anyway, the way I see it, StarCraft II is going to be released late 2009, if not in 2010... so I still got time!

Thanks for the tips! ;-)

Yeah, there are ten zerg missions. Number six, you start on an island completely surrounded. Also a mutalisk level, so be careful with your vespene and build lots of spore colonies and an aerial home defence force. Number seven is difficult but fun - it features Samir Duran, you cannot make mutalisks and be careful where you park your ultralisks and lurkers lest they get Mind-Controlled. Good for trying the zergling rush (take at least 30-36 and follow up with hydralisks/lurkers)

Make a row of three burrowed groups and put the nearest two under a hotkey (say: 4 & 5). Wait out the next attack, afterward
unburrow furthest > attack target. When they reach the second group hit 5, u > attack target; then also 4, u > attack target. This will create a huge wave of zerglings arriving almost at the same time. One of the most satisfying sights in the game, especially against protoss.

But yeah, better get those exams done first. Or allow yourself exactly one hour and then save and only continue the next day.
