Seriously... What are moves like 1.c3 1.f3 1.Nh3 doing in correspondence chess? Are these moves even legal to start with?
|
|
c3 is called the Saragossa Opening f3 is called Barnes' Opening Nh3 is called the Amer/Paris Opening
Of course I have no idea why anyone would play them execpt for shock value as a time advantage in an across the board game

Those are big names for openings starting like that
Shock value?
Oh yes! Those are shockingly refreshing! The problem is when you play blitz with those and beat the other guy... I was told twice:
"The Larsen opening? How about a little bit of respect!"
Anyway... Nothing implied uneternal...
Besides, I guess it is illegal to make fun of your opponent's openings during a serious game

Now 1.b3 that's an opening I can get into

I met a guy recently who plays the Grob almost exclusively, even in CC, threw me for a bit of a loop! But then I'm one of those dull 1.d4 players. ;)
