Bergman is in the championship that started last year. he has scored 7 out of 8. He has a slim chance of winning the event. He has registered for the championship that starts jun 15. I think that everyone whoose playing strength is above 2500 has a shot. I think bergman is better than 2500. He will probably lose a game or two. That may cost him 25 points. He can recover those points quickly by playing 25 games against U1800 opponents. I think that each of the top 3 players should be automatically entered into an elite tournament each month. Not necessarily all three in the same elite tournament.

Sorry phys, I didn't mean that Anniversary tourney.

I mean a championship points system like the one I have tentatively set up.
To win that yearly championship, one must win elite tourneys like Conde7 has
this year, making ratings manipulation much more difficult since one would
have to play lots of low rated games to make up for each elite loss.

Ideally, the pursuit of that championship would
give someone like Bergman a better goal.
