I stand corrected, and will from hence pay more attention to the subtle differences that divide the written versions of the myriad inflections and dialects on the isle that was, after all, the birthplace of the English language. Can you recommend a site on that subject?
After all, I do wish to revisit some of the best pubs available to mankind without my mere presence occasioning a tizzy. Let alone a wobbly.
That being said, I actually quite like the variations in spelling in different versions of Standard English worldwide. Though I do tend to agree that the adverb is "blindfold".

Well then I guess we all must agree that it is just a matter of opinion then.

No. 'tis a matter o' fact. Please keep your opinions to yourself. Since I'm English, my authority in this matter shall remain unchallenged.
Have a nice day.

And obviously, if some Continental barbarian like me were to point out that MSWord can spelling-correct for nineteen different versions of English, there will still prove to be some posters of limited mind that would consider their particular version of English to be the only and definitive one.
More power to them, and time will certainly tell (though keep in mind that even Word does not correct for UN English!).
Hasta reina Victoria siempre, Fauquinelle.
