I point out that there are strategy games (for example, variants of Nim) where the player who moves first loses by force.

Another game I must be playing backwards. I win more games as receiver in tennis. Being able to nail a serve back at the feet of the server is a nice advantage at my level :-)

I am thinking of only playing black for a while to find out what my black rating is. I wish the site would calculate our black ratng and white rating outomatically. I can estimate from my stats but there are several assumptions I have to make. For example I would assume that my rating with white = my raing with black plus a constant. But has the constant changed?

Er, how can a constant change? And if it does change, all you're saying is that your white rating is your black rating plus something. But any number is any other number plus something.
