When one is invited to join a private tournament, there seems to be no way to find out the time control apart from sending a message to the organizer. That's a very important piece of information to be missing -- there's no way I'm going to join a tournament without knowing that.
Also, there seems to be no way to access the tournament apart from following the link in the notification email. Tournaments you've been invited to join should appear under "My Tournaments".

This request is well thought-out and perfectly reasonable. Let us fold our hands and pray some improvement happens.

It turns out that you can find out the tournament's details by going to the main "Tournaments" page and then going to the private tournaments tab. That's better than nothing but you still might have to look through pages of tournaments to find the right one and the information should be immediately available, without us having to search for it.
