I can think of many pro sports or pro games where intentionally losing a game that doesn't matter is often completely acceptable and otherwise mostly ignored.

Can you tell me of a sport where the authorities will strongly chase after the truth in such cases? Almost to the contrary, punitive action would only be taken if there was an admission!

It has always seemed to me that especially with minor cheating generally, most sports players have a "what can I get away with" mentality, especially when there are high stakes.

Here at Queen Alice, there is no prize money and no entrance or account fee so minor questionable activities should be ignored. You have to let the minor stuff go, especially when the intent is difficult to determine.

I am also in a tournamnet with Mogogue. He asked me to play a particular opening. When I played what I always play he resigned. He made only 1 move then resigned. He did not resign all his games all his games. This is improper etiquette for a round robin. Cheating is far more serious than poor etiquette.

There have been other cases of bad manners.

It is important to be aware that what might seem like cheating could be ignorance and not malice.

I have not studied the examples presented here. So I cant agree or disagree with the solutions.

However, equus, and all of us, should have the right to avoid playing certain players. My no play list is a good idea even if I dont put anyone on my no play list. It is alaways a good idea to allow one player to avoid players he has a conflict with.

Blutigeroo,

My no play list idea will be less comlicated if we dont replace players who remove themselves from tournaments becuase they want to avoid someone who signed up after them. I think we can run the tournament with 18 instead of 20 players. If players withdraw by not playing there games that is more disruptive.

Phystutordotcom is absolutely correct. It is my right to play someone I like, and do not play "those" I think are cheaters, or troublemakers, rude ones, etc.etc.etc. The ignore list should at least forbid those ignored to write directly to us. 26 moves exactaly like Fritz 12, believe me, this guy shouldn't be here in QA, this is pretty much "overwhelmingness", and that is not the question, I saw, many "gamers" (unique word to describe them), playing perfectly and in other games distracting our atentions playing like loosers against low rated players. There is no way, the best solution is as equus have proposed so far: being inactive, letting them fighting their machines on their owns. I trust very little high-rated-players, and only! I will no far accept play against high rated players I don't trust. And that is it, even tournaments I will no longer play defying those I think are players, not gamers until such a project like a no-play list comes forth.

Another of Elafsson's accounts????

Yes, the cheaters are often attracted to these posts as Equus already knows.
