Sakhan, the best from one group go to the next round. In case of tie inside the group, both players go.
In Group 1: maeaton and MarcosT made 8 points each, and they are the winners of group 1. Both go to next round.
In your group 2: sripradeep is the winner with 12 points. There is not a tie, because you made only 8.
It is the winner (or winners) who goes to next round.

I've gotta say... I won a tournament because of method 2. Look at this: http://queenalice.com/tournament.php?id=1057
Maybe the first method is not a real tie-break, as much tourneys use method 2...
