What comes first? Well, if you said "Which came first?", I'd say the chicken. But to "What comes first?", I'd say the egg. Eggs for breakfast and chicken for dinner. That was easy.

Well, the argument on the web page I posted is that if you have an egg and a chicken comes out of it, that must be a chicken egg. Even if the thing that laid the egg wasn't a chicken. I find that pretty convincing.

OTOH, if you have a chicken and an egg comes out of it, that must be a chicken egg, too. What's the difference between your statement and mine, richerby?

Assuming you are using that term as another term for a rooster, that's still a chicken. A male chicken is a rooster or cock; a female chicken is a hen.
