Bacon actually wrote, ``It is true, that a little philosophy inclineth man's mind to atheism, but depth in philosophy bringeth men's minds about to religion.'' (In Of Atheism).

My guess is that you know the quote in a Portuguese translation and translated it back to English. Also, the quote appears in various incorrect forms on the internet. The meaning is much the same, though philosophy and science are definitely different things in English.

Thank you all for your opinion to this topic. I learned a lot from your opinion. I just don't want to be part to the debate.
As I said before, I believe in Creation that God created the Universe because of my faith. I'm a catholic.

RayDuque3, With all respect to your faith, and acknowledging your statement that you don't want to be part to the debate, I wonder about your position on this "because" of your catholic faith. I know that there are some catholics for whom evolution is fact and not at odds with their faith. I also have done some search into the official position of the Catholic Church on evolution, and I see no conflict, from the Church's point of view, between faith and embracing evolution as fact.
I will understand if you prefer not to engage in this conversation.
Respectfully, Perry

perple, As I said it before and I will say it again that Thank you for all your opinion about this topic. I just don't want to be part of the debate.
Again, I just want to say that I believe in Creation that God created the Universe because of my faith. I'm a catholic. That's all. No further comment.
