The original question alluded only to theories of how we initially came into being. Some argue the scientific method, according to its own rules, can not exclude creationism as it can not be disproved (to which I would personally ask 'show me the evidence for it'). But there are so many variations on creationism that it's hard to generalise. Some believe literally in their respective religious texts. Others take it as metaphor. Others think creationism utterly outdated whilst maintaining strong religious belief. The more important issue for me is how personal belief is brought into decisions affecting others - family, friends, government, etc. Belief differs widely between individuals by its very nature; science, on the other hand, doesn't. It's either true for everyone (through testing) or not. Whilst evolution at the genetic level is random variance (it's worth remembering this), we do at least know it to be a fact. But I can't disprove a creationist theory of the Big Bang. The point is that we should represent both theories for what they genuinely are - one a tested method of practical living, one a part of a much wider belief system on what it is to be human.

The circumstantial evidence for creation and a young earth far outweigh that of evolution. An increasing number of scientists are reaching that conclusion. Some scientists, however, are finding it difficult to forsake their faith in evolution, and they are either ignoring or covering the evidence. I'm coming down on the side of intelligent design and creation.

What would be the evidences for creationism? Has someone found the Garden of Eden? Perhaps even with the Tree of Life still standing there?
And what are we supposed to do with all those dinossaur bones these wicked scientists have faked to prove their evolutionary theories?
As I said before, I do believe in a Superior Being, but to say there are evidences for creation as stated in the Bible is something hard to accept.

capmo,
As you know, the dinosaur fossils are very real. The presence of dinosaur bones does not prove or disprove any specific theory of origins. Unfortunately, the circular reasoning used by evolutionists confuses most people. (i.e. We found the fossil in this layer of earth which is x-million years old, therefore, the animal represented by the fossil is x-million years old. How did you know the geologic earth layer was x-million years old? Because it had an x-million-year-old fossil in it.)

Evidences for creation include sedimentary deposits and the fossils that protrude through multiple layers that are supposedly separated by millions of years.

The list of scientists who are coming around is getting longer, and they represent every field -- biology, physical chemistry, medical physics, meteorology, hydrology, cosmology, geophysics, and so forth.
