Although I don't approve of rating/title snobbery, I think achievement should be recognised.

I don't think it's a good idea to award titles and so on -- it gives extra incentive for computer cheating.
On the other hand, adding the user's highest-ever rating to the stats page would be good.

I accepts with Clive and Richerby, it gives incentive for computer cheating. Only rating for players, please.

personally i dont feel that adding titles to qualified people will increase cheating/computer use. the people who feel the need to use a computer or cheat will do so regardless if there is a title involved, and at this site its my opinion that there is little of that (cheating) anyway.

Actually, my message was meant to be even handed; looking at both possibilities. Recognition versus cheating. My mind is open. I wonder if a different concept (best game awards) could be set up instead. If the game was of a high standard, but didn't follow the lines suggested by the usual computer suspects, it could be considered by a panel every few months?
