Actually, Chouia, Andre was referring to one of those free browser-based games we get bombarded with here on the Dutch QA. Bitefight has something to do with vampires etc.
My theory is that two people with an equal level of fear to commit, respectively, fear of letting go, make the best couples. Note that Andre also mentions they've been together for ten years...
Though I must say, I love that French expression! Is it a quote or general wisdom? I ask, because if I get it printed on a t-shirt, I'd like to attribute it if needed.

That French expression is a very old popular proverb, you can print it on your T-shirt, there is no copyright on it . And if you are interested in old French expressions about men and women, I can give you other ones if you want : - Men propose, women choose. - what women want, God wants. - if you make a woman laugh, she is half in your bed. - men always have the last word with women, and it is "yes, darling". - never beat a woman, even with a rose. To come back to the conversation, My "theory" (if I can call it a theory...), is that commitment strengthen the bond, this does not mean that you must take it for granted, but I really do not think that fear of letting go is a part of a loving and faithful relationship. It's now more than 20 years I am married, and I must say my husband and I see our relationship the same way : if you want to build a house, better build it on a rock than on quicksands.

Ah, the problem with internet forums (it's just the words)…
| "any kind of commitment", are you sure ? in that kind of case, at least you would invest your money, your time, your health, and more than that, you would loose your self-esteem (if you ever got any...), and spoil the relationship you have with your "non-spousal life-partner" (what a word for designing the one you .... love ????). |
No-one who knows me in the real world will treat my posts with too much seriousness.
Yes, there are truths within them. We celebrated the tenth anniversary of our meeting during April this year, and we are not married; although, whenever we have cross-words between ourselves one of us usually finishes things by shouting “That’s it! I want a divorce!”
