What I was trying to say is that if your opponent is of the mind to take as long as he can over every move (and I've played several on QA) then IF/THEN will be of little use. Against those who like to get on with life, it is a good idea, especially in the openings.

.... and in endgames when your opponent insist of continuing a hopelessly lost game, he wants only to lose by mat.

So who is the person who can actually make these decisions? I've been on QA roughly 5 years or so and I've no idea who actually runs it, and do they read these forums? Have they ever taken any ideas and implemented them? Because nothing has changed in the 5 years or so I've been here. Just curious.

I find the problem with tournaments is the time limit of 7 days. I'm sure some players only switch their computer on once a week and then only for 10 seconds (which they are entitled to do). Bur for those of us in our latter years and for whom time is short, it would help to play a faster game if the tournies could also be for 3 days. So that for example, odd numbered tournies would be for 7 days and the even number tournies for 3. I could stick to the 3 dayers then. Yippee!

I believe that has been suggested already many times. :^-(
