Hi, I'm sure your opponent is just feeling very, very frustrated with HIMSELF right now, so don't be too hard on him! All of us at times feel, rightly or wrongly, that an injustice has been perpetrated over the chessboard and we play on in order to vent!

talking about a game in progress and naming the ACTUAL GAME should result in loss by you csadler....that is showing NO class talking about your opponent during your game...

i disagree...i was calling a spade a spade...in any case he resigned. i don't see how talking about a game in progress (in the capacity i did) would qualify for me being forfeited. i did not solicit analysis and did not receive any in a position where i was up two rooks to no pieces.

<csadler> I completely understand your frustrations about finishing out a won game. I had some early games here where I was up 3 or 4 pieces, yet they played on. It honestly doesn't bother me, because you can always improve your technique and try to find the quickest win without goofing up. Besides, you know you're going to win, so it's merely delayed gratification. Remember some juniors are specifically instructed by their coaches and parents to play it out until mate. My stock advice is that students should keep playing as long as they're learning something. As they improve, they will know better when to resign. As you improve, you will face fewer players who delay the inevitable like that. But these games are archived, so you could just avoid players who you thought were disrespectful later.
Miguel found 4 games over 100 moves, and in 3 out of 4 the superior side blundered into stalemate. I highly doubt they were being generous after playing 100 moves; more likely they moved too hastily and paid a half point for it. Reviewing those games might make you appreciate better why some people play on in hopeless positions. But the issue goes back to the original points: it is unethical to discuss a game in progress, and it is unethical to embarrass your opponent into resigning.
Good luck
