I guess that none of you understand the USA then. Vietnam was not in our best interest; nor was Korea. We stood by allies because it was the right thing to do, because we had promised to do so. Some of us take our promises seriously.

Tewald: You are insisting with Vietnam, Korea and whatever the country that you want to name, i dont really want to say this, but you insist to repeat, over and over again something that we already have very clear, sometimes i think that some people feel their feelings attacked, and feel like they have to defend something that doesnt have any defense.
I guess you dont understand that no one of us is trying to attack you, by my side, im against the stablishment, the one that only wants to rule my own and private world...

It's been quite interesting sitting back and watching this discussion unfold.
It has been quite a while since I have posted here (since my last argument incidentally) and to see how everyone thinks has been quite interesting! Looking forward to more interesting conversation!

Tewald: I am sure you are not including the "Manifest Destiny" as one of the right things.

Razoman:
No. I'm not trying to justify everything the US has ever done. That phrase comes from about 160 years ago; I hadn't heard it in years, and I don't think it's been used outside of history classes for over 100 years. Even I am not that old!
