RobertD, it's easy to do: you can set up the time for your tournament: if you think 7d/m is a lot of time, then create a tournament which time control is 3d/m...

RobertD,
In private tourments (the subject of this topic) it's possible to start a game with 3 days per move with no problems. The normal tourments, itoh must accept all kinds of players (even who play once a week) so 7 days per move is the natural option.
If you worried about tourments duration try incoming in more tourments so you will always have games to play or find for some private toruments with 3 days per move.
Best regards,
Max

7) Director must have the power to decret draw or victory of any games.
Very important to speed up the tournment, also to descentralize the work from you, and to solve problems and deadlocks typical of chess that need human intervention. |
Maybe director should have also the option to make click on the "clock" icon.
| About the 7th topic, I think that's a source for problems. As tourments implicate in rating changes a bad tourment's director could influence the rating system by decreting the game conclusion in a non objective way. Unfortunately we must think about this kind of situation. |
And now is not responsability of the director, if time is out, it has been because the player.

Maybe you could have Open Auto tournaments that are 7 days and another set that is 3 days. If that option were available I would only go in the 3 day ones.
The problem with private tournaments is that only the Swiss system is used and I would rather use round robin.
